Trending in fashion right now are stacked bangles or bracelets - which is how I always wear mine - so now I'm in fashion.  I love choosing crystals and gems according to what energy I could use help with today, or color, or just be cause it matches my outfit.  Right now I am experimenting with double or triple wrap bracelets to see if it works.  Double or triple the gems will be a wow!

Wire Wrapping

I am practicing new wire wrapping techniques and really like what I am designing.  It is a challenge to push yourself to design new art and express your energy in a piece.  I am often guided by my love for gemstones and crystals - absolutely no two are alike, and they are sooooo old.  I can't believe that things of such beauty (and sparkle) are underground and away from light!  Right now I am working with quartz druzy and doing an art nouveau style pendant, it's going well, but still need to practice before putting it in my store on Etsy.  Keep creating!

Spring Nests

The weather has been unseasonably warm and it's a reminder that spring will come.  So I made these little bird's nests with blue or white pearls for the eggs.  They look so cute on a chain with or without matching pearls.

Vintage Revamp

I have a small collection of broken vintage jewelry pieces.  Like a little girl playing in her mother's jewelry box, I get them out and admire them, but wonder how to repair them.  So I gave it a try with a couple pieces.  One is a bronze art deco piece missing a dangle - an easy fix, I chose a faceted black onyx bead and made matching earrings as well.  The second is a very old piece with dark patina and blue faux cat's eye cabochons.  This one would just not hang properly, the components being too heavy for the delicate chain.  So I carefully removed some of the chain and replaced it with white freshwater pearls and now it hangs and wears well.  A recent visit to Lowe's with my Dad's advice, I purchased some heavy duty wire cutters and files so that I can snip off the clip-on earring backs and broken pin backs from some other pieces.  These vintage pieces will be fun to wear with just about anything!
